It is your responsibility to view and check the official hard-copy Disclosure certificate Mayflower Disclosure Services Ltd accepts no liability for the consequences of any actions taken on the basis of the information provided. You will need to see the hard-copy Standard DBS or Enhanced DBS certificate that was issued to the applicant, to have access to the content printed on the certificate. However, if the applicant's Standard DBS or Enhanced DBS certificate has 'content' on it (i.e: they have a criminal record), you will not have access to an electronic DBS certificate. We recommend that you always view the hard-copy DBS certificate regardless of the e-result. You will also be able to view and download an electronic DBS certificate if the applicant has a clear DBS check. The Primary Application Manager for your DBS account will receive a 'result' notification email each time a Standard DBS or Enhanced DBS certificate is issued. This change is part of the government’s aim to put the individual in greater control of their own data. This is due to a change in law that took place in 2013. Standard DBS or Enhanced DBS certificates are posted to the applicant's current home address (as was entered on the DBS application form) directly from the DBS. One hard-copy Standard DBS or Enhanced DBS certificate is produced.
